Carpets

The designs we weave

Kahkeshan, and six designs that recur in our work, each with its own specification.

The Kahkeshan image is a photograph of the carpet itself. The other six images are placeholders — graphic panels, not photographs of carpets. Each one will be replaced with a photograph of the actual carpet once the shoot is done, and the specifications will be updated after final measurement.

Reading the numbers

What the specification means

Knot density is how many knots are tied in each square centimetre. The higher it goes, the finer and more legible the design becomes — and the longer the carpet takes to weave.

Origin is where the silk was sourced. We use natural Qom silk, and if a carpet is ever woven with silk from somewhere else, that is what the specification will say.

Dimensions are the finished size after weaving. If you need a different size, we will tell you whether it can be done.
